How will my new wireless notebook PC with my current Apple Airport router?
I have Verizon Online as an ISP in my home. I have an iMac, in conjunction connect using Safari. I am pleased with a notebook PC (probably a Dell Inspiron), wireless functionality will have to buy. So here are the questions: 1.Are any wireless router universally compatible with all wireless-enabled computers? 2. What PC Internet program I want to connect to the Internet, use to use, for example, a Dell Inspiron notebook? 3. Do I need to install the Verizon Online software on my new laptop to connect to the Internet, or is my wireless computer automatically on the Internet on the wireless router without any configuration on my part? 4. Macs and PCs use the same wireless protocols to connect connect to the Internet should not be a problem with a PC to your airport related. Depending on your new laptop operating system (XP or Vista) it's easy. Watch for the small computer icon on the bottom right corner of the desktop. Right-click it and select "View Available Wireless Networks" A new window should Pop-up, and then select your AirPort network and click Connect button. Enter your password if you have a password (WEP / WPA) on your wireless network To register, and your golden. No additional programs / software are required.
